An excellent item for both table and exhibition use. The exceptionally uniform, round, smooth skinned roots have an attractive rich red internal coloration and stand for a long period without becoming ‘woody’. Very tasty. 180 seeds per packet.
Sow thinly into fienly raked, moist, warm soil at a depth of 13mm in rows about 30cm apart. Germination takes 10 -14 days. Thin as necessary to leave 25-50mm gaps between plants. Grow best in good soil which has not recently been manured. Water well during periods of dry weather. Make sucessional sowings to ensure summe rlong fruiting, sowing -> cropping – 9-11 weeks.
