Sow thinly directly into a finely raked, seedbed at a depth of 13mm. Germination takes 7-12 days. Transplant plants with a trowler or a dibber when large enough to handle allowing 38cm between plants each way. Water well during spells of dry weather. Try protecting with fleece to prevent cabbage butterfly attacks. Cut heads before flowers begin to open.
