Suttons Broccoli Purple Sprouting

The slightly untidy cousin of calabrese, broccoli provides you with the first harvests of the year in January-April. The sweet, earthy flavour complements all kinds of dishes from Asian inspired stir-fries to Sunday roasts. 350 seeds per packet.

Sow thinly direct into a finely raked seed bed at a depth of 13mm. Germination takes 7 to 12 days. Transplant resulting plants with a trowel or a dibber when large enough to handle allowing 60cm between plants each way. Grows best in rich well cultivated soil. Use a ntirogen-rich fertiliser in late winter to boost yields. Sowing -> Cropping – 38-42 weeks.
