Suttons Climbing French Bean Blue Lake

Traditional favourite. Medium-length, tender, stringless, round pods. Will also provide a good crop of haricot beans if allowed to ripen. White seeded climbing french bean. Height 150cm (5′).

Sow in pots or trays on a windowsill or in a greenhouse using a good quality compost. Germination takes 7-14 days. Grown on, planting outside or protecting with cloches until frost risk has passed. Alternatively, sow direct into preprared warm, moist soil first erecting canes or netting to eventually support plants, sowing one seed per cane or at 15-23cm intervals along the row at a depth of 50mm.Grows best in rich, well prepared soil. Conserve moisture by mulching with manure, straw, or a layer of grass clippings.
