A feathery annual, with clusters of spicy seeds and used in curries and casseroles, and may be ground over lamb and pork.
Sow thinly in a pot on a windowsill using quality compost. Cover seeds with 6mm sieved compost. Germination takes 7-14 days. Grow on in pots and begin to use leaves when plants reach 15cm. Sow every 3-4 weeks for sucession. Alternatively sow directly into finely raked, moist, warm soil. Thin seedlings to 22-30cm apart.
