Spikes of large, neatly arranged, creamy-white flowers with burgundy blotches, and unusually cut lower petals that give the plants an open, airy feel. Up to five flower stems per plant. Attractive to beneficial insects. Sow early for flowers the same year.
For flowering the same year sow January to Feburary in trays or pots on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approx 18-20 celsius onto a moist seed compost. Do not exclude light or allow to dry out. Germination takes 15-20 days. Transplat seedlings into trays 7.5cm apart and grow on. Plant out about 30-45cm apart for August and September flowering. Alternatively sow direct outside from March onwards, barely covering the seed and thinning in stages for flowering the following year.
